ANDY HORWITZ

Andy Horwitz is a Producer and Executive Vice President of Charles Roven’s Atlas Entertainment.

Most recently Horwitz serves as Producer on J.C. Chandor’s TRIPLE FRONTIER, starring Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund and Pedro Pascal, which was released theatrically by Netflix on March 6, 2019 and on their platform March 13, 2019 to record setting numbers for the streaming giant. Triple Frontier was watched by more than 63 million accounts and over 120 million people, making it Netflix’s fifth most popular original film ever. Before that, Horwitz served as co-producer on David Ayer’s SUICIDE SQUAD starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Cara Delevingne and Viola Davis. The film opened in August of 2016 and holds the largest August opening weekend in history with $135.1 million domestically. In its second and third weeks, the film held the number one spot and grossed over $745 million worldwide at the box office. During the course of production on SUICIDE SQUAD, Horwitz created and spearheaded an immersive VR project which once completed, turned into a multi-million-dollar promotional deal and marketing campaign with Samsung.

Horwitz also served as Producer on THE HOLLOW POINT starring Patrick Wilson, Ian McShane, Jim Belushi and John Leguizamo, which Vertical Entertainment released in theaters and on-demand in December of 2016, and as Executive Producer on William Monahan’s MOJAVE starring Oscar Isaac and Garrett Hedlund, which A24 released in January of 2016.

Horwitz also co-produced David O. Russell’s AMERICAN HUSTLE starring Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Jennifer Lawrence. The film was nominated for 10 Academy Awards® including Best Picture and won three Golden Globes® including Best Picture, three BAFTAs including Best Original Screenplay, among numerous critics’ awards including the New York Film Critics Circle award for Best Picture and a SAG Ensemble nomination. AMERICAN HUSTLE was released in December 2013 and was the biggest limited box-office release of 2013. The film has since grossed over$250 million worldwide.

Horwitz’s development slate is quite robust in film and television with a number of projects he’s producing for Atlas Entertainment lined up for 2021 and beyond.

2020 marks Horwitz’s 13th year at Atlas Entertainment, where he started in March of 2007 working for Charles Roven on The Dark Knight.

Chandor’s “Triple Frontier” starring Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund and Pedro Pascal, was released by Netflix in March 2019 and watched by more than 63 million accounts and over 120 million people, making it Netflix’s fifth most popular original film ever.  Additional past feature film projects include David O. For television, Atlas produced the first season of the hit anthology series “Dirty John,” based on the popular true crime podcast of the same name. The first season, which featured an all-star cast led by Connie Britton, Eric Bana, Juno Temple and Julia Garner, became the most-watched scripted series ever among total viewers for Bravo and was nominated for Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Awards. “What / If,” the social thriller anthology series created by Mike Kelley and starring Renee Zellweger and Jane Levy premiered on Netflix in May 2019. Atlas also produced the original series “12 Monkeys,” based on the 1995 Academy Award nominated film by the same title, which aired on SYFY for four seasons. Next in television, Atlas will executive produce the limited series “Evel”, based on the story of larger-than-life 70’s daredevil Evel Knievel as he prepares for his greatest death-defying feat, the historic Snake River Canyon jump. The show, which will air on USA, stars Milo Ventimiglia in the title role and is currently in pre-production.
